Our goals and policy is to treat our patients as we would treat our families. We will offer high-quality, friendly service in a gentle, caring atmosphere. Our patients are the heart of our practice and the reason we are here. At all times our patients will be treated with respect, dignity and compassion. Being of service to our patients is the definition of our purpose and the mission of our practice.

Appointments

Patients are seen by appointment only. If you have a broken bracket, poking wire, missed appointment etc., please call our office at 801-525-1333 in advance so that we may reserve an appointment for you.

Because appointments are made six to eight weeks in advance, please reschedule any appointments as soon as possible to prevent extended treatment time due to unavailable appointment openings.

We share your concern about missing school or work and make every effort to see that each patient receives a fair share of convenient appointments. Some appointments, such as putting braces on or adding more brackets require considerable time and our undivided attention. For these procedures, it is necessary to schedule during school (morning) hours.

Our School-Hour Strategy

While it is unavoidable that some appointments be scheduled during school hours, we are glad to work with our patients in that regard. We can often schedule school-hour appointments at times that are less critical to the academic well-being of our young patients.

Here are some popular times to schedule:

  • Before school
  • During study hall
  • Through the lunch break
  • During physical education classes
  • During elective classes
  • in-service days at school (check your school calendar)

Managing the Unexpected

Emergency Care: Patients with pain or swelling are seen as soon as possible. In cases involving an accident with trauma to the face or mouth, the patient may be referred to the appropriate specialist for treatment.

Repairs: Please call to arrange an appointment if you have loose bands, brackets, o-ties, lost/broken appliances or retainers. We don't want you to have to wait while we try to fit you in to an already full schedule. It's also unfair to scheduled patients who end up having to wait longer due to unscheduled walk-ins.

Appointments that are Broken or Cancelled with Short Notice: Please call us as soon as you become aware that you cannot keep an appointment; preferably 48 hours or more prior to your scheduled appointment. Most of our patients schedule their appointments 8-10 weeks out. If you miss or cancel an appointment with short notice we may not be able to reschedule the appointment without having to wait a few weeks (which may prolong your treatment). Morning appointments can usually be scheduled sooner.

There may also be a $45.00 no-show fee applied to your account for missed appointments without notification.
